Bear Hunt
Dragonfly class have been reading the book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ this week. The children participated in a role play based on the book, retold the story and even went on our very own bear hunt. We followed the bear footprints around the school and eventually found the fluffy bear underneath the oak tree.

Maths
The children have been working hard in maths. They have been calculating addition and subtraction sums using concrete materials such as cubes to help them.
Science
Dragonfly class planted bulbs this week. Each child took it in turn to fill each planter with soil and insert their bulb. Then we added water to make sure that the soil was sufficiently moist to enable the best growing environment for our lovely plants. We can’t wait to check on them in February when they should be starting to bloom.
Pete the Poet
The children had an amazing time with Pete the Poet. They enjoyed learning all about poetry through music, costume and props. It was super fun for the children to get dressed up and get creative whilst also learning about other cultures.

In maths the children have been learning all about length and height and how we can measure objects by using standard and non-standard means. This week the children measured and recorded the length of a variety of classroom objects using cubes.

The children thoroughly enjoyed dressing up and performing a role play of the historical event.
Computing
The children had a lot of fun today programming the bee bots to perform simple routes using algorithms. Some groups then went on to design their own route for the bee bots to follow with an algorithm to match.
