This week, the children have been learning all about money! Today, the children were tasked with using different combinations of money to make a specific amount for each item in the toy shop.
In English, we have been basing all of our work around the popular children's book 'Room on the Broom'. Today. the children had a really fun time retelling the story using role play! I was very impressed with their fantastic team work not to mention their brilliant acting skills!
In Geography, we have been exploring climates. Today, the children enjoyed making their own posters about the impacts of climate change and what we can do to help stop causing climate change.
Today, the children had a brilliant time competing in their houses for the annual inter-house handball tournament. It was fantastic to see all the children involved and working so well together in their teams. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all and congratulations to Wessex who were this year's winners!
This term, the children have been exploring the work of Quentin Blake in our drawing topic. They were all very excited to be able to pick their favourite characters from books that Quentin Blake had illustrated and have a go at replicating them using the skills we have been learning this term.
A brilliant day was had in Mallard class today learning about a range of different careers from the lovely volunteers who came into school to tell us about their jobs. Thank you to everyone that came in!
Our DT project this term was to make a moving vehicle. The children carefully designed their success criteria to meet the design brief and worked hard to make sure they followed their designs. The children had so much fun making their moving vehicles, and it was great to see their creativity and problem-solving skills shine through. Well done, Mallard!
This term, we were very lucky to have Sean from Somerset Cricket in school to deliver cricket coaching. All of his sessions were super engaging and it was great to see the children develop their skills over the past 7 weeks! Thank you, Sean!
