2025-2026

Bugfest

The children really enjoyed having Bugfest come to visit. We enjoyed learning all about the different creepy crawlies and lots of the children (and adults) were super brave and held lots of different creatures.

Children's Mental Health Workshop

As part of our learning during Children's Mental Health week Mrs Streetin came down to run a workshop with us all about kindness. She spent some time talking to the children about how they could be kind and then they created their own kindness tokens that they took home.

Gymnastics

The children have really enjoyed their gymnastics PE sessions this term. They have been practising their balancing and jumping skills as well as learning how to move in different ways. They particularly enjoyed when it was time to get the climbing frame out and had great fun developing their climbing skills.

SCARF Workshop

The children enjoyed taking part in our SCARF workshop. We learnt all about the different parts of our bodies and all the things we need to keep themselves healthy. We enjoyed meeting Harold the giraffe and helping him to think about what he could do to help himself when he was feeling sad.

Winter Welly Walk

The children enjoyed going on a Winter welly walk. We wrapped up warm and set off around the school to look for signs of winter. We discussed the weather, had a look at the trees and thought about how they looked different from when we went on our Autumn welly walk.

Christingle Making

The children enjoyed working with Rev. Sarah to make Christingles. She told them all about what the different parts of the Christingle represent. At the end of the day we went to the Christingle assembly where we sang some songs and Mr Green lit some of the Christingles at the front of the hall for us to see.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

The children had a wonderful time helping to decorate the class Christmas tree. They chose which baubles they wanted to put on and where.

Bonfire Night

To celebrate Bonfire Night we made breadstick sparklers using breadsticks, chocolate and sprinkles. The children enjoyed decorating their sparklers and then taste testing them at snack time.

Autumn Welly Walk

Over the past few weeks we have been focussing on Autumn as our topic. We have learnt all about the signs of Autumn including what happens to the trees and all about hibernation. We've talked about changes in the weather and how it is becoming darker in the mornings and evenings. To wrap up this topic we enjoyed going on a welly walk around the school to look for signs of Autumn. We looked for different coloured leaves, acorns, seeds and even tried to spot a squirrel. We've recently had one of the big trees on the field cut down and the logs were still there so we had abit of fun climbing and jumping whilst Miss Jackson took some fun pictures of us making shapes in the air.

European Day of Languages

We had fun in class learning all about France during European Day of Languages. We learnt about where France was and what the weather was like. We also learnt how to say hello and goodbye in French. We took part in some fun French themed activities and finished the day off by enjoying some French food along with Year One.

Dot Day

The children enjoyed being part of Dot Day this year. They had fun exploring a variety of dot themed activities, and we worked together to create a collaborative piece using the book 'The Dot' by Peter H Reynolds as inspiration.

Our First Weeks

The children in Minnow Class have settled into school beautifully. They have enjoyed exploring both the indoor and outdoor classroom and experiencing all of the activities that have been on offer. They have had a great time playing with their friends and making new ones.
